Visiting regulations of ZOO Bratislava

By entering the premises of ZOO Bratislava, the visitor agrees with these Visitor Regulations and undertakes to comply with them.

Do not feed animals

Each species kept in the zoo has a precisely determined feeding dose. By overfeeding the animals, you will harm them, they may get sick or die. Protect our greenery, do not tear it and do not offer it to animals as food. If you want to help the animals in our zoo, sponsor them by adopting.

Do not bring pets to the zoo

For veterinary and safety reasons, animals kept outside our zoo are not allowed to enter the zoo. The exceptiosn are  guide, service, assistance and therapy dogs.

Keep the ticket

Keep the ticket during the entire visit of  the zoo in case of inspection.

Please observe the opening hours

The zoo's opening hours vary depending on the season. Leave the zoo before closing time.

Report serious incidents at the entrance or at the cash desk

You can also report losses, finds or complaints at the entrance or at the cash desk.

Get around on foot

It is not possible to move around the area on a bicycle, scooter, roller skates, skateboard or hoverboard, it disturbs the animals. Exceptions are baby carriages, bouncers, tricycles for small children under the supervision of adults and aids for the disabled.

Children only accompanied

Children under 10 years old can only go to the zoo accompanied by an adult. School groups and organized groups of children must be accompanied by a supervisor who is responsible for the children during the entire visit of the zoo. 

Use attractions responsibly

When using children's playgrounds and other attractions within the zoo area, it is important to comply with the safety principles, taking into account the climatic conditions. The children's accompanying person is responsible for the safe use of the children attractions. 

Balloons do not belong in the zoo

For safety reasons, it is not allowed to go to the zoo with balloons. If the balloon bursts, animals can be frightened by it. 

Don't be noisy

All noisy objects, music players, pyrotechnics and other objects that could threaten or disturb animals and visitors do not belong in the zoo. It is not allowed to tap on glass, touch the cages and enclosures, it is very stressful for the animals, they can get scared or injured. Every animal needs time to rest and sleep. If it is at the time of your visit, respect that and do not try to wake the animal. 

Keep it clean

Do not pollute the zoo area, garbage belongs in the garbage cans. The consumption of food and drinks is strictly prohibited in all indoor pavilions. 

Take care of your own safety

Do not touch the animals, do not put your hands or various objects in the cages and do not climb fences and barriers. Any attempt to have direct contact with animals can endanger the life of you and your children. Animals can protect their territory and can hurt you. In case of non-respect, ZOO Bratislava is not responsible for injuries. 

Do not smoke in the zoo

Smoking is prohibited in the zoo, except for areas reserved for smokers. 

Documentation for zoo needs

By entering the premises, the visitor gives consent to make a photographic or audio-visual recording of them, which can be made during their visit of the premises for promotional purposes of the zoo, without any right to compensation and without time and space limitations. The individuals providing such records are always visibly marked. 

Profitable activity in the zoo

Any profitable activity in the zoo area is possible to operate only with the consent of ZOO Bratislava.

Follow the rules and be considerate to other zoo visitors

Individuals who violate the visiting regulations and individuals who harass or threaten animals and other zoo visitors will be immediately expelled from the ZOO Bratislava area. Individuals under the influence of addictive and psychotropic substances and individuals with infectious diseases are prohibited to enter the zoo.

Do not damage property of the zoo

If the damage will be caused, the zoo will require a financial compensation from you.

Prohibition of entry into service premises

Do not move outside the visitor paths and do not enter areas and zones marked with prohibition signs. These spaces are intended for zoo employees only and are not safe for visitors.

Follow the instructions of the staff

Follow the instructions of the staff, leave the zoo immediately after being asked to leave the premises.
