Location Australian king parrot

The Australian king parrot is native to Australia. 

Its bird nesting season starts in May to June and ends in January.  

Adult male of this species has red head, breasts and lower part of body, with blue strip on the nape between red on the top and green on the back. The upper part of the body is green. Male has red and orange upper jaw with a black tip, the lower jaw is black with orange base and the irises are yellow. The plumage of female is very different from the one of male, that has green head and breasts, a grey beak and pale strip on the shoulders, which is small or not there at all. Chicks of both sexes have brown irises and yellowish beak, otherwise they resemble female in their appearance.
