The common barn owl inhabits Australia, America, South Asia, and Africa and Europe except their northern parts.
Its bird nesting season takes place during March. It does not build nests, but lays eggs in the hollows of trees. Female takes over the brooding responsibility, while male forages for its partner and offspring. There could be a delay between the time of chicks’ hatching of up to two days, due to which significant differences in sizes occur. Younger and smaller chicks often pass away from hunger. Chicks stay with their mother up to the age of three weeks after hatching, until the down feathers that insulate their body temperature are fully grown. Young barn owls are fully capable of flight around the age of 60 days.
