The black swan belongs to the largest water bird species, and it nests the most in the territories of Australia and Tasmania. 

Its bird nesting season starts in February and ends in September. 

Males are larger than females, females have a long neck proportional to the body. Females are paler than males. Even the color surrounding the beak is somewhat lighter for females than males. Their irises are red or pink, whereas out of bird nesting season their color fades into white at most.
