Location Mexican military macaw

Mexican military macaws are native to South America and Central America.

They live in monogamous pairs, in the wild joining others of their kind into large flocks. Bird nesting season begins for them in spring – in May – and ends in summer. Within this period they exhibit agressive behaviour. In general they tend toward very playful, inquisitive and active nature. Both a spacious aviary for freedom of flight and an interior area heated to 15 degrees Celsius in winter are required for their well-being.
