The red-winged parrot is native to Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Its bird nesting season takes place once a year, in spring or summer.
It is medium-sized, stout parrot. It is the only green parrot with big red shoulders. Male is bright lime green with black back and dark blue rear. The tail is green with yellow tip. The beak and eyes are red, and the legs are grey. Coloration of female is similar, but there is a small spot on its wings, it has a dark green back and a lighter rear.
