A beautiful, brightly colored pheasant-like bird lives in the dense coniferous and mixed forests of Asia,
from the eastern Himalayas to western China. It favors bamboo thickets and rhododendron stands and prefers
to nest on the trees or bushes. It enjoys eating live insects, green leaves, and fruit.
Males attract females by inflating a beautiful, brightly colored pouch on their neck,
spreading their tail, and performing an impressive dance.
