Dear participants and fans of the oRUNgutan run,

the safety and enjoyment of running are our top priorities. Therefore, given the very unfavorable weather forecast for Sunday, May 17, we have decided to postpone the 3rd annual oRUNgutan benefit run to another date, Saturday, May 30, 2026.

If capacity becomes available, we will open registration for new participants again on Thursday, May 21.

The first two years of the oRUNgutan charity run attracted more than a thousand runners – children and adults. Over 20,000 euros were collected, which went towards further improving the conditions in the Primate Pavilion, home to the Sumatran orangutan family and other primates that we care for at Bratislava Zoo.

All proceeds from the entry fee will be used to make specific improvements to the breeding facilities and living conditions of our primates, such as new climbing and rope elements, swings, planting of resilient greenery and enrichment activities. We will also use the funds to prepare space for an exceptional new species – the gelada baboon, which we will welcome to our zoo in 2026.

This year we have increased the number of participants to 800 enthusiasts. There are again disciplines for children and adults.
